Featured Story: Students learn about solar eclipses first-hand!

The Hopatcong Observatory Astronomy Club was proud to host a solar eclipse watch party on October 14th. In attendance were 6th grade students who were interested in experiencing a solar eclipse first hand, and members of the community. Even though it was raining, 3 dozen enthusiastic astronomy fans showed up the learn more about the eclipse. Following a presentation on solar eclipses, the club tuned into NASA's live stream of the event. The watch party served the club's mission statement of fostering interest in astronomy within the local community, and hosting educational events for students. The next solar eclipse will be occur on April 8th, and will be visible from Hopatcong.
